Birthday Preview???
Yes that’s a McCain cake pan on his head… He’d just finished scraping every little morsel out of the thing and he decided the only logical remaining course was to wear it like a hat… Which is normal for an almost-two-year-old. Right?? Hey! He was high on icing sugar at the time!!! This Saturday is Sam 2nd birthday and the gang is coming over to have some fun! Will it be a wacky and wild as this dessert session? Either way, I bet there will be some icing everywhere, a few loose diapers and, definitely, a couple tired parents… We’ll be back soon to fill you in on all the crazy eating details!!!
Stricktly Ballroom
OK, OK! I’ve been a little lazy in the posting department, but I have quite a few posts lined up and ready to go that need a little more tweaking. Until those start popping up next week, I have for you here a fun little vid of Sam and I doing a little improvised ballroom dancing. Trouble is, I can’t help be the clown, so I threw myself around a little bit more than required in traditional ballroom dance, but Sam loved it and that’s all that matters.
Before playing the vid below; however, I would like to warn viewers that the auditory content of the video might not be suitable for everyone. No it’s not hardcore gangsta rap, an excerpt of an Andrew Dice Clay stand-up routine, high pitch, whiny static or even Celine Dion… It’s me “singing” off key.
So watch at your own risk as I guarantee that whatever discomfort you endure at my hands will surely disappear the moment you hear Sam’s reaction to my clowning around.
What can I say folks, being a Daddy to a giggle-pus of a kid has made me even goofier than before! Wow. Goofier than before. What’s really cool is that even Melissa is getting on the goofy band wagon, so I’ll be sure to put some mildly embarrassing video of her doing something foolish up on the blog soon. MUHAHAHAHAHA!
Enjoy!
Sammy’s New Pyjamas
Every parent does it. I am sure of it. It’s a weird situation, because people with no children see other parents do it and say:
“Poor kid, I’d never do that… It’s kind of tacky!”
Then, those same people have a kid and then a holiday rolls around and BAM! They buy the kid theme pyjamas.
Guilty as charged!
Halloween: Haunted Happenings
Well folks, it was a crazy Halloween… and I am pooped out! So for now, only some pics. But soon I will throw together a nice vid to see Aunt Ingrid in action, in her finished form! So here are a bunch of pics to tide you over as I am now going to bed!

I’ll be back later in the week when I wake up!
Take care all!
Halloween: Last Days!
I’ll tell you, Aunt Ingrid is getting pretty antsy as her big day is coming up Saturday and she just can’t wait to get the kids… I mean, treat the kids to some candy on Halloween! She’s been acting pretty weird for a
while now. She’ll rarely come out of the basement, yet she insists we put pumpkins and candles everywhere in the house. She keeps saying it’s easier on her complexion. Other odd things have changed around the house, like the porch light turning blood red, and an eerie pumpkin patch growing in our front yard. I think she night be behind these mysterious additions…
Being the gracious hosts we are, I even had to clean out her cauldron for her! And folks, they don’t have self-cleaning cauldrons like we do ovens. I had to haul that bad-boy out on the back porch and scrub off as must grime and rust as I could. That thing weights a ton, like it’s made of cast iron from the middle ages…
She’s also insisting on eating her own food! Bizarre jars of stuff I’ve never seen are popping up in the house, some of which I’m pretty sure is not legal. She’s like making soup with them too… freakin weird ya know?! Never anything else! She just likes brewing up some good “home made concoctions” or “home brews” as she calls them between cackling laughter.
Also, she keeps eyeing Sam like he’s a big juicy turkey or something. Licking her chops and rubbing her hands together. Now I’ve watched enough cartoon to recognize that kind of behavior, so we don’t leave Sam alone with her at all. Every time he sees her, he shakes his hands and makes a “WoooOWoWOOOWoWoWOWOW” noise.
Well If he’s not enjoying the company of his great aunt Ingrid, he sure is having fun with the pumpkins around the house! Especially those with lights in them. Thankfully, Aunt Ingrid stays in the cellar by day, and only sneeks out in the dead of night, while Sam’s is sleeping, and doesn’t see him toying with her things…
OK gotta go for now folks, I see Melissa sweeping our deck with and old broom I’ve never seen before… Check back soon for some pics of the weirdness going on at our house this October!
Sam’s Big Feet
Well folks, you all know what they say about a man with big feet… Uh huh…
He wears BIG shoes! Oh the dirty minds! Behave baby, yeah! ;) Sam gets into everything! Everything! And who knows why, but on this day he decided to get into my stinky shoes and take a stroll. Yeah well, at least he didn’t swing Mom’s purse over his shoulder and kick on her high heels… like other kids we know…
Sam in School
While it is Fall and most kids of age have dreaded the return to school, Sam has taken an enthusiastic approach to what will soon become the norm for him. Melissa’s mother recently gave us a kiddie sized desk and chairs for Sam to get his schoolness goin’ on. And judging from that last part of that last sentence, maybe I should go back too.
Up until recently, we had never really shown Sam the world of creative arts like finger painting, coloring, play-dough other mess inducing kiddie pastimes. But the arrival of his own little station that he can sit down at and go crazy has opened the door to his mind… and our cleaning cupboard.
Sam’s Halloween 09 Preview
Well there are a scant 39 days left to my favorite holiday and it’s about time I post on it! I’ve been busy since mid-August working on a project for my haunt this year and while digging through the decorations, I happened upon Sam’s costume for this year. It was given to us by our neighbor over the summer who’s boys have long since outgrown it. As I pulled it out of storage, I saw Sam sitting on the floor playing with his toys and I couldn’t resist…
Sam’s Room!
Hey everybody, well as you can hopefully see, and enjoy, we’ve been tinkering with the look of the blog. Some things are working well, others aren’t co-operating to our satisfaction… So, let me know what you think of this little make over with a little comment below and we’ll see what we can do about fixing our little issues in the mean-time.
By the way, this new theme was inspired by the colors in Sam’s bedroom!
I’ll be back soon with a real post soon, until then have fun folks!!!
