Stricktly Ballroom
OK, OK! I’ve been a little lazy in the posting department, but I have quite a few posts lined up and ready to go that need a little more tweaking. Until those start popping up next week, I have for you here a fun little vid of Sam and I doing a little improvised ballroom dancing. Trouble is, I can’t help be the clown, so I threw myself around a little bit more than required in traditional ballroom dance, but Sam loved it and that’s all that matters.
Before playing the vid below; however, I would like to warn viewers that the auditory content of the video might not be suitable for everyone. No it’s not hardcore gangsta rap, an excerpt of an Andrew Dice Clay stand-up routine, high pitch, whiny static or even Celine Dion… It’s me “singing” off key.
So watch at your own risk as I guarantee that whatever discomfort you endure at my hands will surely disappear the moment you hear Sam’s reaction to my clowning around.
What can I say folks, being a Daddy to a giggle-pus of a kid has made me even goofier than before! Wow. Goofier than before. What’s really cool is that even Melissa is getting on the goofy band wagon, so I’ll be sure to put some mildly embarrassing video of her doing something foolish up on the blog soon. MUHAHAHAHAHA!
Enjoy!
Sleepless Elsewhere than Seattle
As you may or may not know (read the story here), Sam is now out of his crib. He took a swan dive during a faithful night in October that sealed the deal on the crib, and made us hastily introduce him to the world of ‘Big Boy Beds’. Well actually, his new kiddy bed is on order and we should get it next week. Meanwhile, the little stinker is camping it out in the backyard shed. Now I know you may be freaking out a little over this, but trust me, we thought of everything… Right down to the kerosene lamp… Taught him to light it too! My boy, sniff sniff, already a man
In reality folks, he’s just camping out on his crib mattress on the floor of his room and therein lies the problem: It’s too much freedom!
Giggle-Puss!
Sam and I were alone together in the house last week, which might be cause for alarm as we do some pretty cooky things when Mom’s out.
While feeding Sammy-boy his supper, I noticed he was in a giggling mood. Everything I did, he would giggle. So, naturally, like any concerned parent, I checked his milk and food for any traces of wacky tabacky, but no, it was clean. I guess he was just in a funny mood, which is not odd for him, just surprising at that time because when he’s eating, it’s usually all business until he’s full.
The setup is pretty simple, Sam’s in his high-chair and I’m jumping out from behind a wall while making funny faces and noises I don’t do when Mom’s around
Enjoy! Oh and pardon my big arse at the end of the clip.
Keep laughing people! Blog ya soon!

It’s been a busy week in our household: spring cleaning, family events, new computer shopping, and oh yeah Easter! But now that we’re back to our routine, I can happily say that I will now have more time to write, not just in this blog, but other projects as well. One thing I’ve never compromised, regardless of whether or not I have the time, is playing with Sam!
March wasn’t a good month for us. Sam started daycare which means he caught everything he could… and promptly gave it to us.
But thems the breaks, and now Sam is feeling better, a lot better. When Sammy’s feeling a little under the weather, he doesn’t eat much. As do we when we are sick. Easy to say when written like that on black and white. Logical. Sounds obvious. But when you little guy stops eating for a couple days and only has a nibble here and there, you forget that obvious fact. Not to say panic, but worried thoughts kind of creep into our heads. During that month of march, Samuel lost just over 200 grams, not much to you and me, but something to watch on a growing baby.
Then one day, Sam eats like a pig. I mean all out, buttons snapping, cheeks smeared, food in the hair pig-out. Even with all the cleanup that was necessary after that crazy lunch marathon, we were happy. Cause a baby’s health can be read through his appetite… Again, just like us. Since the beginning of April, Sam’s been chomping like a champ!
A freakin’ piglet folks.
He eats so much, that after each meal, his belly seems to have grown to its breaking point. This thing just sticks out, stressing any fabric unlucky enough to be wrapped around it; so one day, I just took his shirt off and… BAM!
Gutzilla!
Sam’s Showdown: Part 2
Whew! These days, we are crazy busy, I will have a couple post coming up soon about Sam’s birthday party and his first few days at day care. Yeah, Melissa and I are a little freaked out about that, more on that parental anxiety to come… So for now, I hope you all don’t mind another comic post! Let’s keep the story going and see how Sam and Elmo are getting along… Catch up with part 1 here.
