Halloween: Aunt Ingrid Revealed!
Well tomorrow is the big day, and Aunt Ingrid is finally ready to great our little trick or treaters! Yes here she is in most of her glory… there’s a going to be a little more ambiance on Halloween night, but this will give you all the general idea of what Anut Ingrid is… And so far, Sam is on the scared side… He used to think she was funny looking, but now, well he’s a lot more hesitant to go walking up to her… or even to go in the basement… MUH AHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Hopefully the weather will clear up form tomorrow night, as Aunty Ingrid does not mix too well with water! Oh well, thems the breaks I guess! It’s just too bad if it does rain, Ingrid is hours of work and more patience that I thought I had! Too bad, because she’s worth it!
Halloween: Last Days!
I’ll tell you, Aunt Ingrid is getting pretty antsy as her big day is coming up Saturday and she just can’t wait to get the kids… I mean, treat the kids to some candy on Halloween! She’s been acting pretty weird for a
while now. She’ll rarely come out of the basement, yet she insists we put pumpkins and candles everywhere in the house. She keeps saying it’s easier on her complexion. Other odd things have changed around the house, like the porch light turning blood red, and an eerie pumpkin patch growing in our front yard. I think she night be behind these mysterious additions…
Being the gracious hosts we are, I even had to clean out her cauldron for her! And folks, they don’t have self-cleaning cauldrons like we do ovens. I had to haul that bad-boy out on the back porch and scrub off as must grime and rust as I could. That thing weights a ton, like it’s made of cast iron from the middle ages…
She’s also insisting on eating her own food! Bizarre jars of stuff I’ve never seen are popping up in the house, some of which I’m pretty sure is not legal. She’s like making soup with them too… freakin weird ya know?! Never anything else! She just likes brewing up some good “home made concoctions” or “home brews” as she calls them between cackling laughter.
Also, she keeps eyeing Sam like he’s a big juicy turkey or something. Licking her chops and rubbing her hands together. Now I’ve watched enough cartoon to recognize that kind of behavior, so we don’t leave Sam alone with her at all. Every time he sees her, he shakes his hands and makes a “WoooOWoWOOOWoWoWOWOW” noise.
Well If he’s not enjoying the company of his great aunt Ingrid, he sure is having fun with the pumpkins around the house! Especially those with lights in them. Thankfully, Aunt Ingrid stays in the cellar by day, and only sneeks out in the dead of night, while Sam’s is sleeping, and doesn’t see him toying with her things…
OK gotta go for now folks, I see Melissa sweeping our deck with and old broom I’ve never seen before… Check back soon for some pics of the weirdness going on at our house this October!
Couch Fort & Wrestle!
Boys will be boys! I’m guessing that’s what Melissa is thinking every time Sam and I pull off something like building a couch fort!!! Couch forts RULE people! They absolutely dominate any rainy day, indoor activity not involving electricity you can think of. The possibilities are endless as to all the fun ways you can blow through a cold, wet fall afternoon! Sam was obviously delighted at my little genius idea and I think it’ll be something we’re gonna have to do again soon!
High Flying Lad, Low Lying Dad
Hey folks, it’s been a while, but I just got so busy with certain projects that were time sensitive that the blog took a hit. Aunt Ingrid is a big reason for this, and I’ll be posting more on that for sure, but the other time bandit that’s been infecting our little lives is, well Season 4 of Bones on DVD. Good characters and good writing a TV show make! Can’t get enough, which is what makes it so dangerous to own on DVD: you watch ’till you drop! Oh well, things are looking to lighten up however, and I think we should be back on track! Big news this week: Sam can fly!!!
End of Summer
We are a couple of weeks past the official end of the summer season, which brings with it mixed feelings. On one hand: summer is awesome. The weather, overall, wasn’t that bad and we had some good times with family and friends in all sorts of place and all sorts of situations. On the other hand: Fall is awesommer! I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I am a Halloween nut! Slowly but surely I am indoctrinating Melissa into the ways of All- Hallows-Eve, and hopefully Sam will be into it later on… Melissa and I are currently working on a couple projects for our Halloween display, which gets bigger every year. So Fall is a fun time for us but before we welcome those chilly nights, and leaves rustling in the wind, lets say goodbye to another summer with a smattering of pics that I’ve neglected to post.
Long Lost Aunt?
Seems like we’ve discovered a long lost aunt in the family, but she’s a little weird. She has these bizarre obsessions with children, animals and soup, which normally might be OK, but she combines her hobbies. She also loves cleaning, which explains her keeping a broom nearby at all times. Even stranger, she only comes by to visit us once a year, which is in the month of October because of some kind of convention at the end of the month. She says her allergies constantly bug her, which is why her eyes are always red and irritated, not to mention her dry crackled skin… Poor old girl!
Now, mind you, she’s a pretty shy lady that quite hates bright lights and camera flashes, which means I had to snap this pic of her in the dark…
