PostHeaderIcon Sam’s Room!

Hey everybody, well as you can hopefully see, and enjoy, we’ve been tinkering with the look of the blog. Some things are working well, others aren’t co-operating to our satisfaction… So, let me know what you think of this little make over with a little comment below and we’ll see what we can do about fixing our little issues in the mean-time.

By the way, this new theme was inspired by the colors in Sam’s bedroom!

I’ll be back soon with a real post soon, until then have fun folks!!!

Ooops! Sammy's been in the crayons!!

Kick-ass Slippers baby!!!

Melissa and I are big proponents of raising Sam to experience the best of our own childhood experiences, while doing our best to avoid the pitfalls… Which of course will be next to impossible, but that’s life.  One of the favorite things from our own childhoods were the weekend morning breakfasts.  If only, for one day, I could open my eyes and gaze at the world as I did 25 years ago: with unlimited wonder and careless agenda!  I would get up earlier than anybody else and run to the kitchen, grab a big bowl, the milk, and a favorite cereal (usually Fruit Loops, Corn Pops, Count Chocula, Captain Crunch or Fruity Pebbles) and run to the TV to watch me some cartoons!!! Oh Hells ya! The Bugs Bunny and Tweety show was the staple of my Saturday morning cartoon schedule for years, and I still watch it today on the odd lunch break. :D

PostHeaderIcon Sammy Bits

So many things, so little time! It’s an odd sensation, being a parent. Especially when you consider the little person you brought into this world, growing right in front of your eyes. Sure there’s all the major firsts: first smile, first laugh, first steps, etc.  But there are also a myriad of other, little moments that don’t seem to make it into most peoples general recollections of their child growing up. This is essentially what makes a blog like this priceless for Melissa and I… And one day, hopefully Sam. We can record these little bits that are so easily forgotten in the cavalcade of happenings, that when they occur, are pure genius. But they can be fleeting, these special times, because even though you marvel at the wonders of a child daily, they make you stop and realize that what your experiencing is true a moment to freeze in time and savor.  Whilst I try to write here about as many of these bits of Sam’s life as I can, some will unavoidably slip by, uncaught, into the stream of days. Which is kind of sad, but those that have been cradled in our minds and shown to family and friends will make us laugh, cry and relive those past intimacies, like they were fresh and new. For this I will be grateful forever more, and so without further ado… Some Sammy bits for you to enjoy!

Freakin' Vacation!!!

Heya Folks! It’s been a while! Hope you’ve all been enjoying summer, because we sure have been.  My lack of posting these past couple of weeks can be attributed to our family summer vacation, plus me starting up a couple personal projects, one of which is a little revamp of the blog… so stay tuned!  As for our vacation, we had us some fun! We had soooo much fun during those sunshine filled (sometime rainy) days, that by the time the sun had set, my energy had been sapped. Thus my creative muscle was exhausted and my intentions to post during the holidays were dashed! Plus, I was lazy…

So let’s kick off right away with one of the first things we did on vacation, a car wash!  Our poor, dirty car (which we recently made our last payment on, Yay! :D ) was in dire need of a little love and care. So on the first Saturday morning of our holidays, Sam gave us a little gift by letting us sleep in until 8 A.M., and we repaid his kindness by letting him play with the garden hose!
